Former GSCO Lieutenant arrested on domestic violence charges

Darrell Stuart Kicklighter, Jr., a former Greenville County Sheriff’s Lieutenant, was arrested on charges of second degree domestic violence on Friday, May 2, 2025.

A former Greenville County Sheriff’s Lieutenant was arrested on charges of second degree domestic violence on Friday, May 2, according to the South Carolina State Law Enforcement Division. 

Darrell Stuart Kicklighter, Jr was booked into the Greenville County Detention Center around noon Friday, stemming from a May 2024 incident in which he ”pushed the victim to the ground, placed his hands around the victim’s neck, and applied pressure.” The attack caused physical harm or injury while impeding her breathing or airflow, according to the arrest warrant. 

Kicklighter was employed by the GSCO from January 2006 to March 2025. 

The SLED investigation was requested by the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office. The case will be prosecuted by the South Carolina Attorney General’s Office.
